Tea Sachets
No more "dust tea!" Two leaves and a bud has made drinking whole leaf tea easy and accessible with our environmentally friendly pyramid shaped tea sachets. The shape and size of our sachets allows the full leaves to infuse completely in the cup, allowing you to enjoy loose tea in the convenience of a sachet. Our sachets contain about 2.5 grams of premium tea which will brew up a full cup-anywhere between 8oz and 16oz.
Our tea sachets are made from corn-based nylon (as opposed to petroleum-based nylon). The sachets are 100% biodegradable in an industrial composter. There is not scientific evidence, however, to support whether they will biodegrade in your home composter.
Protective Sleeves
At two leaves and a bud, we're keenly aware of the concerns tea drinkers have in regards to the environment, and we were determined to make our packaging more environmentally friendly. Having already been providing our teas in a pyramid style, corn-based sachet that is biodegradable, we felt the next logical step was to come up with a environmentally friendly, protective sleeve for the sachet. In August of 2011, we introduced a new, biodegradable sleeve that would continue to keep the tea fresh and flavorful, while also allowing tea lovers to carry the sachet with them while they "go there."
The biodegradable sleeves are made with Reverte . Reverte is an innovative product line of resin additives used globally to degrade plastics and is commonly used in consumer packaging, such as food packaging and bags. Plastics incorporating Reverte will ultimately oxo-biodegrade into CO2, H20, and biomass when properly discarded. (Depending upon the conditions of disposal, the sleeves will decompose in anywhere from a few months to a few years.) Reverte additives comply with FDA and EC Food Contact regulations and are harmless to humans, animals, and plant life and are non-toxic, leaving no known harmful residues in the soil or waste streams.
Fans of two leaves and a bud tea can now enjoy the fabulous flavor of our tea and know that their favorite cuppa' isn't harming the planet.
