India is the largest worldwide producer of tea. It is actually so ubiquitous throughout India, that it is referred to as "Chai-Pani" - which doesn't just literally mean tea, but also is used as slang to mean tips, wages, or even bribery.
Interestingly enough, in India the most popular method of brewing tea is boiling tea leaves with sugar and milk to create a sweet, creamy tea beverage known as masala chai (similar to the popular chai consumed throughout the US). Masala chai is actually served in roadside stalls all across the country.
