Two leaves and a bud tea company announces “Better Bud Blend,” a tea made from locally grown leaves of the marijuana plant
BASALT, CO – In a new twist on their line of “herbal teas,” locally owned two leaves and a bud tea co., wholesaler of premium tea grown around the world, is announcing its newest beverage offering, a high grade strain of marijuana tea, available for purchase on April 20.
“Better Bud Blend” is the fourth in the series of Better Being Teas the company offers, and consists of premium hydroponic cannabis grown in the Roaring Fork Valley. The leaves are then dried and packaged in individually wrapped sachets for convenient steeping.
“I realized this was a good idea around the 27th time someone called or came into the office and asked us if we were a dispensary for medical marijuana,” says two leaves Head Honcho Ralph Rosenblatt. “I mean, how many times can you really say no to these people who look so desperate to get their hands on some pot? So really, we’re just responding to customer demand.”
Two leaves and a bud Middle Manager Earl Grey says this might just be the variety of tea that’s the easiest to promote in the state of Colorado, since local residents recognize the reputable two leaves and a bud brand name, and those who don’t already assume the company sells marijuana.
“We’re known for traveling the world to source the best tea from small gardens. Isn’t it great that in our own backyard we found a plant that’s in such demand and also makes great tea?” Grey says. “We actually think this tea might even reinvigorate local tea-drinking culture. A lot.”
Tetrahydrocannabinol, or THC, is the psychoactive substance found in the cannabis plant that is known for its mild to moderate analgesic effect in treating pain. The psychoactive quality of the drug is thought to be lessened in the form of brewed tea, but the company still thinks the tea may be effective in treating pain, and otherwise just makes for a good brew.
“There’s a whole demographic out there who for whatever reason aren’t interested in smoking marijuana, and maybe they don’t want the calories and fat from consuming marijuana in a brownie,” Grey says. “Tea is the perfect solution for these people. Why smoke it when you can steep it? Hang on — I’m writing that down as a new catch phrase. And in the summer, it’s going to be totally refreshing over ice.”
Two leaves and a bud has been selling tea worldwide since 2002, and specializes in a wide variety of black, green, white and herbal teas available in whole leaf tea sachets. For more information about two leaves and a bud tea company, visit www.twoleavesandabud.com.
