In Hebrew the word, kosher, means “fit or proper.”
Kosher whole leaf tea is distinguished because it is produced and packaged under strict supervision of a rabbi who certifies the organic tea according to Jewish law, as outlined in the Torah (the Old Testament). Kosher certification ensures that products are pure and do not come in contact with non-kosher products during any step in tea processing and packaging.
It is estimated that approximately one third of all shelf products in our supermarkets are certified kosher. This makes the kosher industry in the U.S. a 30 billion dollars a year business. In the U.S. alone, there appear to be at least 5 million people who buy products based on their being kosher.
Consumers seek out certified Kosher products because of the assured quality, integrity and purity, which one can most definitely find in all of our products, whether or not they actually have the Kosher logo on the box.
